We went to Auschwitz yesterday 12/27/2006. Not a fun tour, but one everyone should do once. The saying above the gate translates to "freedom through work". The average life for a male was 6 months an the average life for a female was 3 months.

I left a comment on your apt. hunting day about drying clothes in Baker in freezing weather and our trip to AZ. This is Jan 8th and I tried to leave a comment here, but evidently didn't push the right buttons. This is the 2nd try. Maybe you will get 2 comments. It was beautiful here so we hiked up on the west hill and out to a point past the power lines. It is supposed to snow 2 inches on the valley floor Wed. night. We have 4 wheel drive on our new to us white pickup so Ken says we will get to our usual breakfast with friends. If the friends show up. We did wonder what the picture of the field with the tracks and the one below it of the buildings were all about. We are thinking about when to visit you-- maybe in Sept. after school starts up? Are you planning on coming home for a visit?
