In 1991 Mt Pinatubo erupted. We rode 4x4s and took a
short hike to get to the crater.

Sabine was the only one who thought to bring a bandana
to keep out the ash and dust! She looks like a bandit! :)
A jeepney is used for transportation to some of the villages.
One of the villages along the way.
Everybody has a water buffalo...?
Jeeps ride ends here...trail begins.
We walked along a creek, crossing it several times.
Ferns the size of trees...

At the volcano crater
It's a beautiful view and we had a perfect day for it!

We took the optional boat ride across the lake...

Minerals showing on the eroded rocks
Wes (he did take a turn at rowing a bit)
During the rainy season there are
probably a lot of waterfalls, here you
see a path of one...no water though
The other side of the lake...
The rock formations are striking

You can see the dust from a small rock slide

When we got back we saw this boat sinking, there are 5 in
the boat and 2 or 3 more getting in! Didn't see what the final
count was. I hope they had enough life jackets!
Helicopter rides from Clark airport (was an airforce base
at one time) are also available.
A very full boat
Small waterfall into the creek
Back to the Jeeps
This little guy was very friendly, he lived at the spa were
lunch was served after the tour to Mt. Pinatubo
I think he thought this look might scare me...
Wes gave him a banana after lunch
He wouldn't share
Jackfruit
Used a panorama program to stitch some pictures and it
faded out the color, so I made it artsy.
